Application background
The large-scale digital media network features numerous digital media clients, diversified system and application platforms and massive tasks. Therefore, it has high requirements on the performance, reliability and dynamic scalability of the storage network. The integration of SAN storage devices and MDC is the optimal solution to meet these requirements.


The solution is applicable for large-scale non-linear editing network, media assets, digital media VOD, satellite monitoring network and VOD/IPTV networks. With high performance and reliability, the storage system is able to provide storage services for front-end application servers or work stations.


Solution  

The solution is based on the BWStor CSA5000 and constructs a FC SAN environment network by connecting the back end to third-party optical fiber disk arrays. The BWFS file system that integrates the BWStor CSA5000 is designed to provide file sharing and storage services under the SAN structure. Moreover, the solution can provide multiple NAS ports so that the front end can connect to different networks. The solution is shown as follows.


By integrating third-party optical fiber disk arrays into a storage space, BWStor CSA5000 is able to provide file sharing and storage services. Based on the SAN storage structure, front-end digital media clients can share the storage space, files and data through the SAN network. Users can store data flows either through FC SAN or NAS ports.
